How to install the free VIDDLL engine for Windows

In five easy steps

STEP 1


While in Live 12.1 or older, click the Edit button of any Max for Live device. The bundled version of Max will open. This may take a moment.


On Live 12.2 or higher, click the three dots icon in the same area and select “Edit in Max” from the context menu that appears.

STEP 2



In Live 12.1 or older, in the upper left side of the Max patcher window, click on the cube icon to open the Max Package Manager.
In 12.2 or above, with the Max application selected, go to the File menu and select Show Package Manager


STEP 3



Scroll down to the third alphabetical page, or in the search field in the top right of the Package Manager window, enter VIDDLL. The top result should be the VIDDLL package by Rob Ramirez. Select it from the search results.



STEP 4



At the top of the package description, click the Install button.

STEP 5


After installation is completed, quit Max and restart Live. All Image and Video features of our Sonification Tools should now work as expected.
