Transit is an Ableton Live Extension that applies time-varying randomization to an existing Arrangement View MIDI clip, rewriting it in place rather than generating something new alongside it. It divides the clip into a series of interval sections, and at the end of each one carves out a brief transition window where notes get independently randomised, pitch, velocity, length, timing, octave, probability, activation, and repetition all available. The bulk of each interval keeps the original material exactly intact. The result is a single clip, or really a sequence of clips replacing the original, that evolves across its duration through controlled moments of mutation rather than wholesale transformation.
