X-Tonal is an audio-reactive synthesizer effect that generates tone only when your signal crosses a defined threshold, turning dynamics into melody. Its responsive synth engine is shaped by attack and decay controls and can be tuned via scale-aware note values, raw hertz, or played in real-time via MIDI or X-Relay input. Waveform shape and additional FX sculpt the character of the tone, while multimode resonant filtration refines its spectrum. Velocity-driven gain and panning react directly to input amplitude, and a built-in delay—optionally quantized to the nearest 16th note—lets you rhythmically stagger tonal output for intricate, harmonically integrated results. As of v2.1, a dedicated sub oscillator adds heft.
